Swartland Pinotage South Africa

A wine with a deep ruby red colour and flavours of ripe red fruits on the nose with hints of strawberry. This Pinotage is medium to full bodied and well balanced on the palate with a lingering plum aftertaste.

The vineyards benefit from the constant cool breezes that blow off the Atlantic Ocean; effectively sustaining the many micro-climates, while the proximity to mountain ranges adds its own dimension to the physical character of the fruit.

Swartland Winery was established in 1948 by a group of local grape growers who wanted to show the world the great wine from their homeland near Malmesbury  in South Africa. The land here is ideally suited to the cultivation of Bush Vines, known for producing grapes of excellent quality and flavour. The drier conditions of the region produces smaller grapes packed with flavour from their concentrated minerals and nutrients in the juice.

Great with grilled lamb, stew and aged cheese.
